PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an estradiol composition which has no generalized absorption of estradiol or slight generalized absorption, improves a vaginal mucous membrane, provides atrophy vaginal epithelium with a positive effect, reduces the risk of osteoporosis, gives vagina maturation, increases the ratio of a superficialness vagina cell, and can be used for treatment of atrophic vaginitis. SOLUTION: A weekly amount of about 10 to 30 μg estradiol is subjected to transvaginal administration with a tablet containing hydroxypropylmethylcellulose covered with a film made of polyethylene glycol 6000NF, lactose monohydrate, zea mays, magnesium stearate, and the like.
