PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network apparatus capable of efficiently restoring encrypted communication while preventing increase of the load of an apparatus or network and degradation of security thereof; and a communication controlling method. SOLUTION: The network apparatus that exchanges encrypted communication information (for instance, SA (Security Association) information) including an encryption key with a communication counter part and mutually stores the information to execute encrypted communication (for instance, IPsec (Security Architecture for Internet Protocol) communication) based on the encrypted communication information includes a power-off detection part configured to detect a power-off sequence and execute a request for deleting the encrypted communication information to the network apparatus of the communication counterpart before the power is turned off.
