PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pitch conversion connector that does not require a larger occupied space even if the number of poles increases. SOLUTION: Terminal fittings 1 are folded in a Z-shape to have first linear portions 2 and second linear portions 3 at both ends which are mutually parallel with a given spacing H therebetween. The second linear portions 3 are provided in two vertical tiers with a spacing of 2H therebetween, and are disposed at a given pitch N. The upper-tier linear portion and the lower-tier linear portion are disposed to be phase-shifted by half a pitch N/2. Moreover, since the forms of an upper terminal fitting and a lower terminal fitting are vertically inverted from each other, the vertical positions of the first linear portions 2 of the upper and lower terminal fittings are set to be flush with each other. Then, the first linear portions 2 of the upper and lower terminal fittings are aligned in one line at half a pitch N/2 and the respective terminal fittings are held by resin-made housings 20, 30A and 30B while the first linear portions 2 are kept in such a state.
