PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic photoreceptor which has high-sensitivity with respect to short wavelength laser light and allows high-density electrostatic latent image to be formed, and prevents occurrence of film peeling, or the like. SOLUTION: The organic photoreceptor has an intermediate layer, a charge generation layer, and a charge transport layer laminated in order on a conductive support member, where the charge generation layer contains a halogen-containing condensed polycyclic pigment and a vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate-vinyl alcohol copolymer.
