<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide peripheral device services requiring external sub-services. <P>SOLUTION: Peripheral devices 1-5, client computing devices 6, 8 and servers 10, 12 are connected via a network 14. An image processing device 2, 4 can advertise one or more of its output capabilities as a web service. The client computing device 6, 8 and the server 10, 12 can advertise web services. The client computing device 6, 8 send an output request to the peripheral device in accordance with an advertised output service. The peripheral device, if it can handle the request, completes processing thereof, and if it cannot, request processing of the sub-service to the client computing device or the server which can provide the sub-service via the advertised service and completes the requested processing using a result thereof. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
