<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which prevents uneven image density and image roughness which may occur due to the stagnation of developer. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: a latent image carrier on which an electrostatic latent image is formed; a developing unit which contains the developer and develops the electrostatic latent image formed on the latent image carrier; and a moving mechanism which moves the developing unit toward the latent image carrier during development, and moves the developing unit away from the latent image carrier and changes the attitude of the developing unit with respect to the latent image carrier not during development. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
