PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing fiber having strong adhesiveness to sufficiently reinforce a polymer by uniform adhesion even with a small coating weight of a treatment agent. SOLUTION: The method for producing a reinforcing fiber includes immersing the fiber in a treatment solution. The fiber is a fiber composed of a multifilament. After the adhesion A of the treatment solution to the fiber, the fiber is kept in an unheated state at 50°C or less for not less than 30 seconds and then drying-heat treatment C is carried out.
