<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel separator which can judge correctly a degradation in separating film without reference to a content percentage of an aromatic component in fuel before separation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The separating film separating the aromatic component in fuel as high-octane fuel is provided. When plural parameters influencing a separation capacity of the separating film are fixed except a specific parameter T (step 105), the ratio of variation (Q2-Q1) in separation speed of the high-octane fuel of the separating film to the variation (T2-T1) of the specific parameter is calculated (step 109).
