PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for analyzing the phase separation structure and block number of an olefin copolymer. SOLUTION: A method for analyzing an olefin copolymer includes the steps of: obtaining a solution by dissolving in a solvent an olefin copolymer having a crystalline segment and a noncrystalline segment; separating the crystalline segment and the noncrystalline segment by applying the solution onto a graphite substrate and drying it; obtaining an observed image of the olefin copolymer on the graphite substrate through an AFM; and performing a structural analysis of the olefin copolymer in accordance with the observed image thus obtained. In the structural analysis step, information about the state of existence of crystalline and noncrystalline regions of a phase separation structure in which a crystalline region composed of an aggregate of crystalline segments and a noncrystalline region composed of an aggregate of noncrystalline segments are separate is obtained from the observed image, or the block number of the olefin copolymer is obtained from the observed image.
