PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic torque transmission device satisfactorily improving torque transmission efficiency by securing stable friction characteristics and quick lock-up response in operation for turning on lock-up. SOLUTION: This device is supported by a front cover 13 connected to the output shaft 12 of an engine in such a manner that a clutch plate 35 rotates, following the rotation of the front cover 13, via a damper device 16. The device is further supported by a turbine hub 22 connected to the input shaft 23 of a transmission mechanism on the front side of the clutch plate 35 in an axial direction under a cantilever support condition where an elastic plate 36 can elastically deform through a pressing force through a hydraulic pressure in such a manner that an outer circumference side section is bent, and on the rear side of the clutch plate 35 in the axial direction under a condition where the piston 37 can move in the axial direction under a pressing force of hydraulic pressure and can rotate as one unit with the turbine hub 22. The clutch plate 35 is displaced to make the elastic plate 36 and the piston 37 grip the same from both sides in the axial direction and is engaged through friction in operation for turning on lock-up.
