<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design method for an instruction set for constructing a combination library of material where cells are used with high efficiency. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method of designing an instruction set for constructing a combination library of material is provided. In the library, a substrate is divided into a plurality of areas and input for arranging the library to the substrate when constructing the library of the material including a plurality of components. The method includes: (1) a step wherein a computer prescribes components constituting the library; (2) a step wherein a triangular figure representing a composition range covered by the library on a composition diagram is given; (3) a step of converting the defined triangular area into a point set; (4) a step wherein the cells of the library and points defined in (3) are associated and allocated; and (5) a step of defining an inclination of an accumulation amount of three components supplied to each cell of the library, and deciding the amount of the component to be supplied to each cell in each component.
