The method for the production of magazine paper from material suspension having fiber, where the material suspension consists of de-inked wastepaper and a portion of chemithermomechanical fiber and another fiber is claimed. The portion of de-inked wastepaper in the suspension is 70-85%. The another fiber is groundwood, thermomechanical pulp or cellulose. The portion of another fiber is 10%. The chemithermomechanical fiber is bleached chemi-thermo-mechanical pulp, chemithermo mechanical pulp and/or alkaline peroxide mechanical pulp and the portion of the chemithermomechanical fiber is 10-25%.
