<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance protection performance of an occupant against collision energy from a vehicle width direction. <P>SOLUTION: This seat belt device 30 includes a belt reel 42 for winding a belt 31 for constraining an occupant Mn, a motor 43 for driving the belt reel 42, a control part 81 for controlling the motor 43 and an occupant posture detecting part 59 for detecting the posture of the occupant seated on a seat 20 and wearing the belt 31.
