PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure controller for an artificial respirator which credibly prevents unnecessary operation of adjustment operating members 26 and 27 although turning operation of an adjustment manipulating member 28 is simple as a whole and there is no possibility that the adjustment manipulating member 28 and the like are broken and which does not make a user feel uncomfortable when handling the adjustment manipulating member 28 in such a situation that the adjustment operating member 28 does not actuate though the adjustment manipulating member 28 turns. SOLUTION: The pressure controller for an artificial respirator includes a control valve 24 facing a gas passage between an inspiratory gas inlet 21a and an inspiratory gas outlet 21b, and an elastic biasing means 25 for elastically biasing the control valve 24 against a valve seat 67. When the adjustment manipulating member 28 carries out return movement, the turning motion of the adjustment manipulating member does not operate the adjustment operating members 26 and 27. When the adjustment manipulating member is pulled out, the turning motion of the adjustment manipulating member operates the adjustment operating members 26 and 27.
