<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that in a conventional metal roll pressure-nipping and molding method, distortion is imparted to a resin sheet at a pressure-nipping part and causes diffused reflection of light or a double refraction phenomenon when there is a bank and in a rubber roll pressure-nipping and molding method, although no bank is formed and no residual strain is caused, a mirror surface as formed by metal rolls is not obtained and rubber has a short lifetime. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A sleeve air floating type elastic roll is the roll with a cylindrical part having flexibility. Gas from a supply source separately provided is introduced into a space enclosed by a shaft, a thin-walled metal pipe 1 and two end plates and a thin-walled metal sleeve 3 is floated from the thin-walled metal pipe by the gas spurted out from holes of the thin-walled metal pipe 1, so that the thin-walled metal sleeve 3 is rotated very easily.
