<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid deterioration in processing efficiency caused by collective issuing of ATAPI (AT Attachment Packet Interface) commands in an ATAPI system. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A CPU 160 of an optical drive executes various processings including a command processing corresponding to an ATAPI command from a host computer 110. A completion notifying part for outputting a completion notification showing the completion of the command processing by the CPU 160 to the host computer 110 can delay output timing of the completion notification from a completion point of time of the command processing.
