PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine capable of reducing the amount of occurrence of black smoke by increasing the combustion efficiency of a fuel during the cold-start-up of the engine. SOLUTION: This engine 100 includes a water temperature sensor 48 for cooling water which cools the engine 100, an engine rotational speed sensor 44, a clutch operation detection means 42 for changing over a clutch mechanism 23, an accelerator operation detection means 41 for determining a set engine rotational speed, and a control device 20 capable of automatically controlling the final target engine rotational speed. When the temperature of the cooling water during the start-up of the engine is equal to or below the predetermined one, the control device 20 performs a rotational speed correction control which sets the final target engine rotational speed to a corrected target engine rotational speed which is higher than the set engine rotational speed set by the accelerator operation detection means 41.
