PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing apparatus and a washing method which sufficiently wash an object to be washed and carry out washing treatment in a short time even in the case the use amount of a washing solution is enormously reduced. SOLUTION: The washing apparatus 1 comprises a container holder 30 which moves around a prescribed revolution axial line L1 and simultaneously rotates on a rotational axial line L2 extended in a manner of slantingly crossing the revolution axial line, an operation mechanism 50 for making the container holder move around the revolution axial line and simultaneously rotate on the rotational axial line, a washing container 110 which is held by the container holder and moved together with the container holder and contains a washing solution D, and a washing container unit 100 having an object material to be washed 120 stored in the washing container. The washing container unit is enabled to prevent the object material to be washed from moving along the rotational axial line in a step of making the container holder move around the revolution axial line and simultaneously rotate on the rotational axial line.
