摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve dishwashing by an optimum quantity of water by sensing air entrainment by a pump in each of washing and rinsing processes. SOLUTION: First cleaning water is supplied to a cleaning tub 12 by a water supply means 16 (S4). A cleaning pump 17 is operated by using a small quantity of the cleaning water (S5) to confirm air entrainment by the cleaning pump 17. At that time, output values from a light transmittance sensing means 30 made up of an optical sensor are stored (S6). Especially, the average values of output signals and a range of variations which are obtained from the light transmittance sensing means 30 are acquired and stored. After that, the cleaning operation of the dishwasher is once brought to a stop (S7). Subsequently, the average values of the output signals and the range of variations acquired from the light transmittance sensing means 30 are compared (S8). The dishwasher can start the cleaning operation (S10) when the output values of the sensor are equal to or lower than a threshold value (S9) and continues to supply water when the values are equal to or higher than the threshold value.
