摘要

In the past, when there was an error in a sync header and the frame itself was deemed to be invalid and was discarded, error correction could not be performed even when the frame was synchronized and the error rate was low enough for error correction. To solve this problem, an optical link terminal and an optical network unit each include a synchronization detector which detects whether synchronization is off in the received data that had been converted into frames, and an error corrector which performs error correction on the received data deemed by means of the synchronization detecting means to not be out of synch, regardless of the presence of errors in the sync header of the frame.
