The invention is intended for use in ship propellers. A shock-absorbing coupling for a screw propeller comprises a hub 1 with blades, a propeller shaft 2, a driven friction disc with external splines 3 and a driving friction disc with internal splines 4 (half-couplings with end splines), said friction discs respectively interacting with the propeller hub and the propeller shaft by means of a splined joint such that the friction discs (half-couplings) are able to move longitudinally relative to each other. There is a flexible element 5 compressing the friction discs (half-couplings). The hub of the screw propeller and the propeller shaft form a friction coupling.
