PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a delivery system for a new graft.
SOLUTION: The delivery system is a flexible low-profile delivery system for delivering an expandable intracorporeal device, especially, an endovascular graft with at least one belt circumferentially disposed around the device in a constraining configuration. The belt is released by a release member such as a release wire by retracting the wire from looped ends of the belt. A plurality of belts can be used and can be released sequentially as to control the order of release and placement of the endovascular graft. An outer protective sheath membrane can be disposed around the endovascular graft while in a constrained state. The sheath membrane must first be retracted or otherwise removed before the graft is released from the constrained state. The delivery system can be configured for delivery by using a guiding device such as a guide wire. The delivery system can also be configured for delivery of a bifurcated intracorporeal device.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
