<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel method for preventing the erosion of a turbine blade made of high-strength precipitation strengthening type steel without deteriorating the strength and quality of the turbine blade. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this method for preventing the erosion of the turbine blade used under an erosion environment, the turbine blade is made of the precipitation strengthening type steel, erosion-resistant material is brought into pressure contact with the portion of the turbine blade that easily erodes, is rotated and is simultaneously moved to cause friction agitation to form the portion with an overlayed layer composed of the erosion-resistant material.
