<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screen which allows high contrast to be obtained and allows a vivid image to be obtained by suppressing the occurrence of moire. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A screen 1 includes a light reflecting layer 2 for reflecting light and a light absorbing layer 3 which is provided on the viewing side of the light reflecting layer 2 and absorbs light impinging from a prescribed direction, and the light absorbing layer 3 includes a light-transmissive base layer 4 and a plurality of light absorbing pieces 5 each of which has light absorptivity, and the plurality of light absorbing pieces 5 are dispersed in the base layer 4 in such posture that a principal surface of each light absorbing piece 5 is approximately parallel with a normal of a display surface 3A.
