PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary dryer capable of elongating the service life by preventing wear of a seal plate (metal plate) while securing seal between a rotating part (rotating drum) and a fixation part, reducing maintenance cost by simplifying replacement work of consumables etc. of a seal part, and improving sealing performance. SOLUTION: In the rotary dryer 1 including the seal part 10, the seal part 10 has an annular first seal plate 11 arranged orthogonally to the periphery of the rotating part 3 and fixed and two annular seal plates 12 sandwiching the first seal plate 11 from both sides. Circumferential grooves 13 are provided on the first seal plate sides of the second seal plates 12, and packing 14 is installed in each of the grooves 13.
