<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having the reduced number of components, and being advantageous for reduction in thickness. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: a first glass substrate 1; a lower electrode layer 2 formed on the substrate 1; a lower dielectric layer 3 formed on the layer 2; an EL layer 4 formed on the layer 3; an upper dielectric layer 5 formed on the layer 4; an upper electrode layer 6 formed on the layer 5; a flattening insulating layer 7 formed above the upper electrode layer 6 and having an flat upper face; a first polarizing layer 8 disposed above the layer 7; a thin film transistor 9 formed thereon; an interlayer insulating film 10 to cover the upper side of the transistor 9; a liquid crystal layer 11 formed thereon; a color filter layer 12 disposed thereon; a second glass substrate 13 disposed above the color filter; and a second polarizing layer 14 disposed above the liquid crystal layer 11 and above or below the second glass substrate 13. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
