<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an armature for a rotary electric machine being capable of shortening a coil peripheral length and improving a coil space factor in a core slot and miniaturizing the rotary electric machine and enhancing the performance of the rotary electric machine. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the armature for the rotary electric machine, a core is configured by arraying split cores including arcuate yokes: pole ties configuring parts mounted at both ends of the yokes; and the slots surrounded by the yokes and the pole ties configuring parts on a circumference. In the armature for the rotary electric machine, insulating members are mounted in the slots, and coils are disposed among the slots mounting the insulating members for the two split cores.
