<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a precise operation method of rotary torque using power, voltage, current, rotational speed of a rotational shaft, and an inverter output frequency applied to operate an electric motor, and to provide a reaction solution viscosity detector using detection values obtained by the operation method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The reaction solution viscosity detector is installed in a reactor for agitating a reaction solution by rotating a rotational shaft having an agitation blade with an inverter drive electric motor as a power source and detects viscosity of the reaction solution. The reaction solution viscosity detector includes a power detection means 1, a current detection means 2, a voltage detection means 3, a rotational speed detection means 4 for detecting speed of the rotational shaft, and a frequency detection means 5 for detecting inverter output frequencies, and performs a specific operation based on values of detection output obtained in the respective processes, thus calculating precise rotary torque and further detecting reaction solution viscosity based on the rotary torque detection value.
