PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Cu-based metallic glass alloy which has a high capability of forming an amorphous alloy and has all of excellent workability, mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: The Cu-based metallic glass alloy has a composition expressed by Cu<SB>36-x</SB>Ni<SB>x</SB>Zr<SB>48</SB>Ag<SB>8</SB>Al<SB>8</SB>(where x is atom% and 0<x≤10). The temperature interval ΔTx in an supercooled liquid region of the Cu-based metallic glass alloy expressed by expression of ΔTx=Tx-Tg (wherein Tx represents a crystallization initiation temperature; and Tg represents a glass transition temperature) is 76 K or more, a reduced vitrification temperature (Tg/T<SB>1</SB>) is 0.60 or more, and λ (λ=Tx/(Tg+T<SB>1</SB>)) is 0.41 or more. The bar-shaped Cu-based metallic glass alloy having a diameter of 20 mm or more can be obtained, and when the composition is Cu<SB>34</SB>Ni<SB>2</SB>Zr<SB>48</SB>Ag<SB>8</SB>Al<SB>8</SB>, the bar-shaped metallic glass alloy having the diameter up to 30 mm can be produced.
