PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a 6000 type high-strength aluminum alloy wire and rod material which is excellent in softening resistance, maintains high mechanical characteristics even when being exposed to a high temperature for a long time and is excellent in both of cold workability and corrosion resistance, and to provide a method of manufacturing the high-strength aluminum alloy wire and rod material. SOLUTION: The wire and rod material is manufactured by subjecting Al-Mg-Si type aluminum alloy of a specified composition to hot rolling in cold strength working, wherein a crystal deposit in a texture of aluminum alloy wire and rod material is made fine, so that the softening resistance is excellent and high mechanical characteristics are maintained even when being exposed to a high temperature for a long time and corrosion resistance is made excellent too.
