New antibacterially active flock fibers (I) are obtained from (a) synthetic and/or natural flock fibers, having same or different lengths in the 0.1-10 mm range, and (b) silver-charged, electrostatically prepared, bioactive cellulose fibers, which have been chopped or milled to give staple fibers and optionally dyed, by (i) blending (a) with 0.2-20 wt. % of (b), (ii) homogenizing and (iii) packaging the mixture or using it directly for electrostatic flocking.
