A bearing cage comprises an annular assembly of separate cage elements each formed with a pocket to receive a rolling element and having side surfaces in contact with but not attached to the side surfaces of adjacent cage elements. Each element 4 may be formed of sheet metal having radially formed inwardly directed flanges 3. The outer surface 8 of the element may be convexly shaped to conform to periperal flanges 13 on the outer race ring 7. Alternatively the elements may be of substantially uniform thickness having converging side faces 21 and lips 23 within the pockets for retaining the rolling members.
