The angular position of each road illuminating filament (30) is between -90 an +90 degrees. The angular position ( beta ) of the road filament of the left headlamp is different from the angular position ( beta ) of the road filament of the right headlamp. Their angular positions are of opposite signs, i.e. left negative and right positive or vice versa. The absolute value of the positive sign angular position is about 60 degrees and the negative value is about 40 degrees. Arrangement of headlamps in an automobile having left and right headlamps.
