<p>A chuck includes a body (10) having an engaging groove (121) for releasably receiving a bit (80). A sleeve (20) is slideably mounted around the body (10). The body (10) further includes an annular groove (13) in an outer periphery thereof. The annular groove (13) includes a positioning portion (13a; 13b; 13c) having an opening (14a; 14b; 14c) extending into the engaging groove (121). A retainer ring (30d; 30e; 30g) is mounted in the annular groove (13) and includes a section (31a; 31b; 31c; 31h) extending into the engaging groove (121) via the opening (14a; 14b; 14c) to engage with and retain the bit (80) in the engaging groove (121).
