<p>Novel acoustically sensitive drug carrying particles comprising non-lamellar forming lipids are disclosed, as well as uses and methods thereof. The drug carrying particles accumulate in the diseased target tissue and efficiently release their payload upon exposure to acoustic energy.</p>
