PURPOSE: A friction welding method and apparatus are provided to reduce a slim phenomenon by rotating base materials installed in a chuck and a clamp together and stopping the chuck after pushing a fixed part. CONSTITUTION: A friction welding method comprises the steps of: setting base materials, rotating a chuck in which a base material is installed; slowly pushing a fixed part to generate frictional heat; releasing a clamp while the base material of the chuck is rotating; welding the base materials installed in the chuck and the fixed part; and stopping the chuck.
