[Class 2 (iii)] Polyvinyl halide compositions are plasticized with a methyl chlor-stearate containing at least 3 chlorine atoms in the molecule. Methyl hexachlor stearate and methyl pentachlor stearate are specified ; also compositions comprising 40 per cent. plasticizer and 60 per cent. polyvinyl chloride. Tricresyl phosphate and other plasticizers and the usual fillers may also be added and acetylated castor oil can be mixed with the composition. The composition may include a lead base or salt as an electrical stabilizer. Specifications 470,380 and 499,931 are referred to. |
