<p>The procedure is based on the processing of photos or videos where the point in space is determined by the position of the recording device at the time of taking the picture or shooting the video. The procedure requires data on the position of the sun on each photo or video at any time and day, in cases when there are no obstacles between the sun and the point itself. If the sun shines on a certain point at a specific time of day or not is determined in such a way that it is established whether the position of the sun on the photo lies in the area with obstacles (1) or in area where there are none (2). If it is located in an area where there are no obstacles (4), at that time the point has been in sunlight, otherwise not. The times of sunrise and sunset as well as duration of the exposure to sunlight is determined in such a way that the day is first divided into several shorter intervals, then the times of sunrise are determined by those intervals when the sun was at the beginning behind the obstacle, while at the end this was not the case any more (and vice versa for sunset). The duration of the exposure to sunlight is obtained as a sum of the duration of intervals when the point has been exposed to sunlight.</p> |
