PURPOSE: A photographing device and a control method are provided to enable a user to divide storage space of a storage medium into desired form. CONSTITUTION: A storage medium stores a photographed image. A storage medium partition unit(52) divides a storage space of the storage medium into a plurality of areas. A storage area selecting unit(53) selects an area where a photographed image is stored among the plurality of areas. A residual capacity calculating unit(54) calculates page number of images capable of storing in the selected area.
