The invention provides an apparatus for use in constructions industry, in particular for supporting, propping, shoring concrete structures. The apparatus is substantially u-shaped comprising a base, a pair of sidewalls extending upwardly from opposed sides of an upper surface of the base, at least one pair of hooks depending downwardly from opposed sides of a lower surface of the base, and one or more protrusions on the lower surface of the base, wherein the protrusions are positioned inwardly of the hooks. In use, the adapter is slid onto a support surface such that the hooks are in tight fit engagement with the support and protrusions are in a slip-fit relationship with holes or grooves on the support surface. The apparatus is a unitary structure which is convenient to manufacture and use. Figure no. 1 is suggested for publication.
