APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ADJUSTING WHITE BALANCE OF DIGITAL IMAGE

PURPOSE: A device and a method for controlling white balance of a digital image are provided to accurately detect with area of an image including white, thereby improving the performance of controlling the white balance. CONSTITUTION: An input image is transformed into YCbCr color space form(920). By detecting whether each pixel of the converted input image is included in a preset area in YCbCr color space or not, a white pixel is detected(930). Gain by each channel is calculated with an average of R,G,B value of the detected white pixels(940). A white balance control is performed by adopting each calculated channel gain to each pixel of the input image(950).
