摘要 The invention relates to optical technology, in particular, to laser technology and optical amplifiers and can be used for amplifying an optical signal and obtaining laser generation. A device for amplifying an optical signal comprises one or more pumping source and a confined space being e.g. toroid-shaped. One or more segments of amplifying optical fiber the input and output of which are extended beyond the confined space. The confined space has one or more windows for inputting pumping reflection and provides conditions for complete inner reflection from the pumping source so that the pumping radiation repeatedly passes the confined space and crosses the amplifying fiber creating therein the inversion of population of energy quantized level, thus providing the amplification of the optical signal being distributed over the amplifying optical fiber. The proposed device is an effective fiber amplifier, which can have one or a plurality of independent input/output pairs, can be easily made at available production facilities and not using a complicated production equipment. An additional advantage of the device provides to use cheap laser pumping sources with a low beam quality.
