Disclosed is the use of an siRNA of an apoptosis specific eIF-5A in the manufacture of a medicament for use in the treatment of a condition treatable by suppression of the activation of the JAAK/STAT pathway, wherein said siRNA suppresses activation of the JAK/STAT pathway in a cell.
