The case (5) has an enclosure (11) including connection walls (15, 16) provided with respective air inlets (17, 19) and air outlets (18, 20). One of the air inlets and one of the air outlets of the corresponding wall are connected to an air insufflation pipe (10) and an air extraction pipe (9), respectively. The air inlet of the connection wall and the air outlet of the other connection wall emerge from the enclosure. The enclosure is configured such that insufflated air traverses the enclosure from the air inlet towards the air outlet of the latter wall. An independent claim is also included for a method for installing an air distribution case in a dual flow controlled mechanical ventilation installation.
