PURPOSE: A data storage device and a data management method thereof are provided to safely store and restore security data by transmitting and receiving encoded data between plural numbers in a distribution format. CONSTITUTION: A storage medium(300) stores security data of a first format. A storage control unit(500) decentralizes privacy data of a second format between random numbers, includes privacy data of the first format and transmits the privacy data of the first format to the storage medium through an internal or external bus. The storage controller comprises an encoding unit for generating privacy data of the second type from the internal memory(50) and the plain text data as well as a memory control unit including the privacy data of the first format from the privacy data of the second format.
