PURPOSE: A system and a method for controlling a device is provided to output or control states of a sensor device, a light device, an electric device, a security device, and an air conditioning device through a user terminal of an office or a house. CONSTITUTION: A user terminal(100) transmits a message for controlling a connected device(400) to a device control server(200). The device control server analyzes the message received from the user terminal. The device control server confirms a corresponding connected device and a control code. The device control server transmits an operation executing command corresponding to the control code to the confirmed connected device. The connected device executes an operation based on the operation executing command of the device control server.
