摘要 FIELD: physics. ^ SUBSTANCE: method of measuring speed of an extended object is based on projecting its image onto the screen of a radiation receiver and conversion of elements of the image into electric signals. A rectangular area is isolated on the current frame for which a histogram is calculated by summing the pixel brightness level of each column with width of one pixel. A strip whose upper and lower borders correspond to the isolated rectangular area of the current frame with similar coordinates of the upper and lower borders is isolated in the next frame. A histogram is also calculated for the isolated strip. Further, an array of similar areas is formed, for which histograms of the isolated rectangular area of the current frame are compared to histograms of similar rectangular areas, whose size is equivalent to the isolated rectangular area. The shift of the image of the extended object in the recurrence period of the frames is used to calculate speed. ^ EFFECT: invention increases measurement accuracy. ^ 21 dwg
