PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device capable of easily calculating a lateral swinging quantity of a rope by long period vibration by using inexpensive displacement sensor and acceleration sensor. SOLUTION: This elevator device performs control operation by detecting swinging of the rope arranged in a hoistway, and includes a position detecting means for detecting a position of a car or a counterweight, a displacement quantity detecting means for detecting a displacement quantity in the vertical direction of the car or the counterweight, and a lateral swinging quantity calculating means for calculating the lateral swinging quantity of the rope based on a predetermined calculation expression from the displacement quantity.
