<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine capable of suitably reducing/purifying NOx exhausted when fuel supply is restarted after fuel cut control. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A vehicle control system 1 executes air-fuel ratio rich control based on a drift degree of exhaust gas when it restarts fuel supply after the fuel cut control by a fuel supply stop means, an asynchronous fuel injection means, a drift degree calculation means, and an asynchronous fuel injection control means, so as to suitably exclude oxidative atmosphere in a purification catalyst 28, which can suitably reduce/purify NOx exhausted when the fuel supply is restarted after the fuel cut control.
