<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated paper for printer capable of preventing the occurrence of surface defect such as rubbing scratch, a dent on a conveying belt or the like due to contact with a cutting processing machine member during planographic cutting and achieving high degree of luster and stable running of the printer. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This coated paper for the printer is provided with a paper basic material and a coated layer containing a pigment and an adhesive as main components on at least its one surface. The coated layer contains a polyethylene resin having a degree of needle penetration specified by JIS K 2207 of less than 1.0 mm. A surface of the coated layer is in the following state: (1) the polyethylene resin exists like sea islands; (2) a ratio of area occupying on the surface of the coated layer is 0.5-5.0%; and (3) a degree of luster of blank paper at 75 degrees based on JIS P 8142 is 60% or more. Air permeability of the coated paper based on No. 5-2:2000 of the JAPAN TAPPI paper pulp test method is 7,000 seconds or less. Ž<P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT Ž
